Il Papaver rhoeas L. , chiamato Papavero comune, Rosolaccio o Serchione, è presente (anche con numerose sub specie) in tutte le regioni italiane e fiorisce tra Aprile e Luglio. Il nome del genere è affine all'arabo "papámbele" e al sanscrito "papavara" = succo pernicioso, ma più comunemente si ritiene derivi dal latino "papaver", che a sua volta proveniva dal celtico "papa" = pappa per i bambini, evidenzia come, probabilmente in passato fosse unito ai cibi, in particolare quelli dei bambini per conciliarne il sonno. Il nome specifico deriva dal greco "rheo"= scorrere via, indica i petali presto caduchi, che scorrono, ad ogni soffio di vento oppure da "róia" = melograno: per il colore rosso. E' usato in erboristeria come sedativo e antidolorifico. Lo scatto è stato effettuato nel mese di Maggio del 2018 ai bordi dell'antica via romana Julia Augusta nel tratto tra Solva ed Albenga. Ho usato un leggero crop dato che non avevo con me la lente macro.
