Si tratta dell'ultima chiesa con il prato sul tetto presente in Islanda, fu costruita nel 1884 e dotata di un tappeto erboso sul tetto, secondo i metodi di edificazione del tempo. Ha pareti spesse e pesanti per isolare dal freddo. Il tetto è in lastre di pietra e coperto dall'erba. Ora questa singolare chiesa dal tetto verde fa parte dei monumenti storici islandesi.
