Vedi, Max, a me piace moltissimo viaggiare, e viaggiare per me vuol dire cercare di incontrare realtà diverse da quella che vivo quotidianamente come uomo “occidentale”. Indipendentemente da tutte le considerazioni che si possono fare su questo, di carattere etico, sociale ed economico, una cosa secondo me rimane sempre valida: incontrare persone che vivono diversamente da noi, per scelta o per necessità, ti arricchisce culturalmente e spesso ti consente di riconsiderare meglio ciò che è veramente importante nella vita da ciò che invece è solo apparenza.
E foto come questa mi servono come promemoria, per non dimenticare appunto... Poi io ho anche una certa età Max, e sono appassionato di fotografia da quando ero un ragazzino, e come tale seguito i grandi fotografi ed avevo anche i miei “miti”, che ovviamente hanno influito sul mio modo di intendere la fotografia. Ed uno di questi era, anzi lo è ancora oggi, Sebastiao Salgado. Se hai avuto modo di vedere (come credo) alcuni dei sui libri, credo tu possa anche comprendere da dove certe mie foto traggano (seppur indegnamente) ispirazione.
