Il restauro de "La Calunnia" Alessandro Tiarini, 1641. questo affresco si trova nella sala detta "Dell'Abate", presso il Monastero di San Procolo, in pieno centro a Bologna.

questa breve e sintetica descrizione del Monastero di San Procolo, l'ho tratta del sito del FAI....
" Uno dei più importanti complessi architettonici di Bologna, nonostante le profonde modifiche di adattamento alle diverse esigenze, conserva ancora la primitiva, austera ed armoniosa bellezza. Nell'XI secolo i monaci benedettini si insediarono presso l'antico luogo di culto dedicato a San Procolo creando uno dei più ricchi ed importanti monasteri di Bologna, soprattutto perché qui ebbe sede la prima Universitas degli scolari legisti. Sommi maestri del Diritto come Bulgaro e Martino, discepoli di Irnerio, vollero qui la loro sepoltura. Il monastero venne rinnovato alla metà del Cinquecento assumendo l'elegante e superbo aspetto rinascimentale. Dopo la soppressione napoleonica degli Ordini ecclesiastici venne trasformato in caserma della Repubblica Cisalpina nel 1796, poi subito riconvertito in Ospedale degli Esposti fino al 1860. E' stato Ospedale della Maternità fino alla fine del xx secolo. Ora, restaurato e liberato da soffocanti superfetazioni, è pronto per una nuova vita."
In realtà il monastero, attualmente, è ancora in fase di restauro; ho avuto la possibilità di visitarlo durante la giornata di apertura al pubblico organizzata dal FAI lo scorso mese di Marzo.
