Karijini National Park - Pilbara - Non ho intenzione di andar giù nell'ennesima gola. Appena mi affaccio al lookout immediato dietrofront e metto le calzature adatte. Un'altra cascata e piscina naturale ancora più bella delle precedenti. La discesa è facile, ma la salita sarà più faticosa delle altre anche se è tutta su una scala di ferro con comodi bassi gradini. Sono però varie centinaia. La Dales Gorge è la più profonda di quelle che ho visitato. Forse solo la Knox, in cui non sono sceso, è più profonda. Altro ampio anfiteatro con piscina alimentata da una larga cascata d'acqua che scorre veloce su rocce a gradoni e quindi fa una serie di continue cascatelle. Più o meno la descrizione sembra sempre la stessa, ma ognuna è diversa dalle altre. Le parole o le foto possono poco. Altro bagno e doccia proprio sotto le cascatelle con l'acqua che massaggia la schiena. Dalla sommità una serie di bianchi tronchi di eucalipto contrasta coreograficamente con il blu del cielo ed il rosso della roccia. Ci sono delle nuvole che aggiungono profondità alla scena. Dagli alberi più vicini arrivano gli strilli di una piccola colonia di Flying Fox che tra un po' inizierà la consueta caccia notturna. Il Karijini si è guadagnato il primo posto nella lista dei luoghi più belli di questo viaggio ed uno nella lista di quelli più belli mai visti. ---- Panoramica da sette scatti verticali. Con l'unico obiettivo a disposizione dopo la rottura del Nikon 24-70 ho fatto miracoli in tutte le foto del parco. E' un peccato, ma tant'è....
