A long way out (a km?) these two huge vehicle/passenger ferries serving Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight pass within metres - or so it looks...

Again, very long lens compression reduces apparent distance considerably, a scene that has always fascinated me.

The foreground strip of land is a tidal salt marsh where migrating birds live and is a prohibited area.
