Su molte strade, soprattutto su quelle asfaltate, alle prime luci del giorno, si incontrano spesso i cadaveri soprattutto di wallabies. La carneficina della notte appena trascorsa. Dal tramonto all'alba, quasi ovunque in tutto il selvaggio ovest, sono in pochi quelli che viaggiano. La presenza massiccia di wallabies, che attraversano fulmineamente la strada, fa fermare anche i più spericolati. Solo i grandi road train non si fermano. Hanno dei paraurti grandi e molto alti. Nello scontro non raro con la fauna selvatica non subiscono in tal modo alcun danno. Una strage continua ed inarrestabile.
