Chianalea di Scilla è il pittoresco borgo di pescatori incastonato sulla punta dello stivale, nell'incantevole Costa Viola in provincia di Reggio Calabria. Chianalea è famosa per essere considerata la “piccola Venezia del Sud”: un mosaico di case poggiate direttamente sul mare e divise da stretti vicoli. Per questa sua particolarità, Chianalea di Scilla compare tra i borghi più belli d'Italia e merita assolutamente di essere scoperta. Il suo nome, Chianalea, deriva il suo nome da “Piano della Galea“, ma è chiamato altrimenti anche Acquagrande o Canalea, visto che i vicoli che scendono a mare sembrano dei piccoli canali. La spontaneità dell'architettura, i piccoli accessi al mare, le ripide scalette e i vicoli attraversati dalla brezza marina e dal rumore del mare che si infrangono sugli scogli. A Chianalea troviamo tutti quei particolari e quelle sfumature dei borghi di mare più autentici. La sua origine è antichissima, come si narra sin dai tempi di Omero: costruita dagli esuli troiani per la sua posizione e per la ricchezza delle sue acque
