Il kookaburra sin dal mio primo viaggio l'ho considerato assolutamente rappresentativo di questo paese. Non riesco a pensare all'Australia senza che la mia mente vada a canguro, koala, casuario e kookaburra. E' molto comune praticamente in tutto il paese nel verde. Nell'est nel primo viaggio accompagnava quasi sempre i risvegli perchè stava a ridosso dei campsite. Lo si trova anche in parchi e giardini. Nel vero wild in foresta non è semplicissimo invece vederlo da vicino. Questa foto è un incontro casuale mentre girovagavo nella zona dello Yalgorup National Park. La caratteristica dello sghignazzante è un incredibile verso assolutamente unico ed il sentirlo in situazioni di isolamento è veramente un'esperienza. Qui poi era anche una giornata piovosa e con non molta luce ad aumentare l'effetto. Nel primo commento ho inserito un link per ascoltare il verso.
