I like the cut, original and different. Congratulations Alessandro ... I would be curious to know how you made this shot: D

Hello, thank you very much. It is a shot from above from a balcony of the Altar of the Fatherland, in Rome. It 's an idea that came to me to escape the banality of photographing the same things that would have photographed the thousands of people around me: Spelacchio, Piazza Venezia and the altar of the homeland itself. I wanted to include two elements that lent themselves to a long exposure, so I decided to include fountain water and traffic. All this including the eye of the statue in a third (I took a live view with the grid). Having better conditions to frame, I would have tried to exploit the curved lines of the fountain, but this result was already a success.

Very nice this shot! Many of your photos are really special and sought in the framing and meaning! Congratulations on the creativity and technical ability that you allow to make the most of the characteristics of the machine!
I take advantage to wish you a happy and prosperous 2019! :-)
A soon,
Simone

Good effort to see a different shot but I like little the feel "disturbing" maybe because it hangs all left me anxious a little. However, nothing detracts from the effort and certainly can be my problem. Thank you for posting the maximum photo

Hello,
I associate with those who rewards the effort to find a different cut. However, compositively Photography does not stand, because it lacks a point of strength, a pivot on which the observer.
Looking at her eye I run to the right, left, top down, but can not stop, and therefore also every dynamism is lost in a certain chaos.
the lines of the lights of the machines and the curve of the fountain are interesting, the problem is that the whole picture wobthe, because it does not have much balance.

Hello Alessandro, I try...
At first glance I thought: Ah, again a crooked photo! Then I looked at her better...
is what the character "ancient" sees, which is the only one to be aligned with the edge (The basement).
He leans forward to observe better and sees a city changed, in great movement: lights, poles, cars, speed. The inclination of the photo gives the impression of something that has lost the balance and is falling, is falling and will break soon.
The fact that it leans forward gives the sense of concern: it is thinking about what it could do, but it is fixed on its hoof and can do nothing, just observe.
to me the crooked photos do not like, but this yes, I like. Congratulations! ;-)
Hello, Roberto

Hello Alessandro, saw the invitation comment. For me the photo does not work in this case I think the originality does not pay. Let me explain the photo is composed of two strong points, the bright trails and the statue that never meet and frankly this makes the message confusing. If the look of the statue had been turned towards the trails would have made a connection, in this case No. Of course, this is my opinion. Hello Adriano

The photo has me seems to base the problem of a PDR hard to find. Good idea and color language. Originality of the cut.
PS: Comment inserted following the discussion "read a photograph", then I take it off

"The photo has me seems to base the problem of a PDR hard to find."
Good point. In fact it was complex to find that, but not even so random. 6 seconds of shooting for a shot from the top do not get easily. It is on tripod, but horizontally on the sill and held hold by hand. I have tried so many possible pdrs (among the many limitations of the situation) before finding that. The logistical aspect is often underestimated, a photographer should not do it. This is a great point in your favor: Do you think but you also know how to put your hands. Reality does not lend itself to our imagination. Something is being controlled, some not. I made my own choices. That's about 7 feet tall you understand, I don't remember it but you see.
P.S. You can leave the comment, I do not change anything.

The aesthetic advice is valid (and I don't know them). Some have not been able to implement them for lack of choice. If we were to distinguish photography from a canvas, it would be simpler. Some misjudgement, let me, there was. Also serious.

For me it does not work, everything falls, it seems to me more an assemblage of photographic tricks. Already placed vertically would acquire greater stability; But even so there is no real point of interest and there is no dialogue between the two subjects of the photo, the statue and the strips. Personal opinions.

Eye mark, be careful, you won't even want to fall into some
error of judgement. Even serious!

I accept everything serenely. I've put it into account since I decided to expose myself.
"It seems more like an assemblage of photographic tricks."
This step I'd like to understand it better. What are you referring to in particular?
