Il sole sta per spuntare all'orizzonte. Spesse nubi librano all'orizzonte sopra alti e snelli camini. Il fumo che ne esce è denso, forte, nero. Sembrano pronti a sparare palle di cannone. Poi ti avvicini sempre di più fino a quando cominci a scorgerli tra la polvere rossa. Uomini e donne, tra i detriti, camminano in fila su e giù per i gradini come se scalassero una piramide. Se non fosse per le scie degli aerei dipinte nel cielo, i cavi elettrici che corrono lungo i pali di bambù e gli echi della chiamata alla preghiera del mattino, si avrebbe la sensazione di vivere nel passato. Una scena di un secolo che non c'è più.
