Piazza della Loggia è una delle principali piazze di Brescia. La sua forma è rettangolare, delimitata da una serie di edifici di epoca veneziana, tra cui spicca la Loggia, sede della giunta comunale di Brescia. La Piazza fu progettata nel Rinascimento, e verso la fine del XV secolo si cominciò la costruzione. La Loggia, iniziata nel 1489 sotto la direzione di Filippo Grassi e ultimata nel 1574 diventa sede della vita amministrativa cittadina. Tutto intorno alla piazza vediamo edifici del millecinquecento, in chiaro stile veneziano, mentre di fronte alla Loggia, sul lato orientale, troviamo i portici rinascimentali sormontati dalla "torretta dell'Orologio", così chiamata per la presenza di un orologio che risale al 1546. Sul lato meridionale della piazza troviamo l'edificio del Monte di Pietà vecchio, eretto tra il 1484 ed il 1489, che presenta nella parte inferiore una piccola loggia veneta divisa in due arcate, e la facciata principale adornata da numerose iscrizioni di epoca romana, derivanti da materiali archeologici riutilizzati per la sua costruzione. Nella parte superiore invece si compone di una loggetta con 7 piccoli archi e un balcone forse usato come pulpito per le orazioni. La diramazione nord orientale della piazza ospita il monumento alla Bella Italia del 1864 opera dello scultore Giovanni Battista Lombardi, in sostituzione della colonna veneziana con in cima il Leone di San Marco, abbattuta dai rivoluzionari nel 1797.
