Nome comune: borragine Descrizione: specie annuale, dimensioni 20-60 cm, densamente pelosa. Fusto robusto, eretto, ramoso in alto, di colore verde sfumato di rosso. Foglie di un bel verde intenso, le basali ovate, margine intero e ondulato, con lungo picciolo alato; le cauline lanceolate, progressivamente più piccole e sessili. Fiori a forma di stella, riuniti in racemi sostenuti da un lungo peduncolo, grandi circa 2 cm, corolla di colore azzurro-violetto, talora anche bianco. Habitat: cresce nell intervallo altimetrico tra 0 e 800 o più metri s.l.m. Negli incolti, al margine dei coltivi, nei muri a secco, lungo i sentieri, ambienti ruderali.
