I lavori del restauro della fontana del Nettuno a Bologna sono finiti poco prima del giorno di Natale 2017. Sono riuscito ad andare a vederla solo in febbraio 2018.

It does not completely convince me of the composition, I think you were on the 11mm of your lens given the distortion, most likely moving away from the fountain, you would have gotten a better effect, imho :-)

Thanks Alex76 for the comment (finally someone who beats a blow!)

Yes, I was 11mm and the idea I had at the time of the photo was:
* Have a part of the small fountain in the foreground on the corner (I try to always have something close in the foreground when I use the wide angle)
* Fountain and statue taken from the bottom to look for an effect of "grandeur"

but I probably failed. In fact, the statue seems more "lying backwards" than "large that overhangs". Perhaps to have the effect I was looking for I would have to stay even closer / closer.

Next time I will try to stay further and I will do some more experimentsù also following your advice

Thanks again!

The closer you are, the more distortion is pronounced, so I advised you to get away ;-)
however, experimenting continuously is the best gym :-)

Yes yes, I had put near the fountain just to have a distorted effect, but perhaps to have what I had in mind I would have to get even closer.

Perhaps I was unclear in my previous message, and I made two speeches at the same time: I know that the closer I get closer the distortion increases, and I was looking for that, and on the other hand I will look for a more "normal" composition, moving away from me, as you advised me.

Sharing ideas helps to see things from a different point of view and contributes to growth.

Thanks again!

figured anyway it was a pleasure
