La zona essendo riccadi faggi di qualità era perfetta per le loro lavorazioni artigianali come la produzione di scatole in legno. Il villaggio fu distrutto sul finire della 1a guerra mondiale dalle truppe austriache e nella 2a guerra mondiale, durante un rastrellamento, da parte dei fascisti-tedeschi alla ricerca di partigiani (settembre 1944).
