Non essendoci la categoria dedicata alla fotografia microscopica, ho inserito l'immagine in Macro e Flora. In realtà questa foto, è stata effettuata al microscopio. Le diatomee sono alghe unicellulari non flagellate, comparse ne Cretaceo circa 145 milioni di anni fa. Rappresentano una delle più importanti classi di microalghe in ambiente mariano e di acqua dolce. Sono avvolte da un guscio di silicio ( dall'aspetto e consistenza vetrosa ). Vengono pulite in varechina per togliere tutto l'interno organico e lasciare solo il guscio. Sono di una bellezza straordinaria e la loro variabilità nella forma e decorazioni, non ha uguali nel mondo microscopico. Questa diatomea, è stata effettuata con un microscopio ottico trinoculare Zeiss Universal, obiettivo Carl Zeiss Jena apocromatico 20X A. 0,65, Fotocamera digitale compatta Canon G9 da 12 megapixel. Tecnica : campo scuro. optopvar 1,6X, stack di 3 fotogrammi, crop che da 300X ha portato l'immagine a circa 400X, filtro arancio in luce radente.
