abbiamo messo un pò a capire cosa fossero quelle parti di corpo umano sepolte ma poi passeggiando abbiamo trovato la visuale giusta: a Viterbo sul prato alla destra della strada che conduce da Porta Faul al Sacrario in una sorta di museo a cielo aperto, è stata collocata un'opera ciclopica dello scultore americano Seward Johnson intitolata, come ricorda un apposito pannello, “Awakening” ovvero “Risveglio”. Si tratta di un figura gigantesca che sembra emergere dal sottosuolo, appunto in una sorta di ideale risveglio, e della quale si protendono verso l'alto solo la testa e gli arti. Il braccio destro è completamente libero ed elevato, l' arto sinistro è invece ancora interrato fino al polso ed emerge solo la mano spalancata; il piede destro sbuca dal terreno oltre il tallone, mentre la coscia e la gamba reclinate del sinistro costituiscono un estemporaneo scivolo per i giochi dei bambini. La testa dalla lunga barba giace con lo sguardo rivolto di un lato. Forte appare la tensione drammatica del gigante che cerca di liberarsi dal sottosuolo. La scultura, formata dai cinque pezzi suddetti, è in alluminio ed è stata realizzata nel 1980. L'installazione ha già varcato l'Atlantico ed è stata esposta in altre due occasioni in Italia.
