E questo capita in ogni forma espressiva, letteraria, poetica o artistica. A ciò si aggiunge il grado di affezione che il fotografo (o qualsiasi altro artista) può avere nei confronti del luogo, della persona o dell'oggetto fotografato. Non ultimo, va considerato l'uso finale che si farà di quello scatto: se cioè, per esempio, si tratta di uno scatto artistico o di una foto a scopo di marketing. Nel primo caso è giusto parlare di uso quantomai realistico dei chiaroscurali, nel secondo caso le foto sono spesso usate come esca pubblicitaria, e dunque molto più caricate. Nel mio caso, posso assicurare che, a parte qualche maschera qua e là, la foto è stata ritoccata molto poco. E se c'è stata una lieve apertura dei neri, ciò è dovuto al forzato recupero delle alte luci, proprio per evidenziare la bellezza (nota a tutti e ormai proverbiale) dei tramonti livornesi, ai quali sono particolarmente affezionato.
