Il castello prende il suo nome da un certo Bragherio di Coredo, primo proprietario assoluto di Castel Bragher ricevuto in feudo nel XIII secolo. Inizialmente esisteva solo il mastio centrale che serviva a controllare la strada che conduceva a Coredo. In seguito, dopo essere passato alla famiglia Thun, il castello venne ampliato nel corso di 400 anni, fino ad essere oggi una delle residenze castellane più eleganti di tutta la Val di Non. I tetti degli edifici sono tutti ricoperti dalle cosiddette “scandole”, tegole in legno di larice. Molto suggestive la Torre della Pece e la chiesetta di S. Celestino che custodisce al suo interno un prezioso ciclo di affreschi riguardanti la Passione di Cristo. Il castello oggi non è visitabile ma dall'esterno si possono ammirare il muro di cinta merlato e l'antico ponte in legno, accesso al maniero.
