La grotta di Stiffe si estende per 6,4Km (si pensa) ma la parte visitabile è di soli 700m. La zona esplorata dall'uomo si ferma a 2km in quanto la mancanza di ossigeno e l'acqua al momento impediscono di proseguire. Al suo interno possiamo trovare stalattiti e stalagmiti. Le stalattiti si formano nel momento in cui l'acqua penetra nel terreno e rilascia il calcare, quando le goccie di acqua trovano un terreno fertile "gocciolando" si formano le stalagmiti. Nel momento in cui una stalattite ed una stalagmite si incontrano e si uniscono tra loro si forma una colonna. Le cavità si sono modellate in tempi geologici dalle infiltrazioni, erosione e corrosione delle acque provenienti dalla parte superiore delle montagne soprastanti, in particolare dall'Altopiano delle Rocche. Al suo interno abbiamo una temperatura di 10c° costante per tutto l'anno.
