Messier 74 è una bellissima galassia a spirale nella costellazione dei Pesci. Distante da noi tra i 30-35 milioni di al., seppur di buona luminosità superficiale, risulta di difficile osservazione a causa della debolezza dei bracci. All'interno si notano numerose zone di formazione stellare e nel nucleo si sospetta la presenza di un buco nero. Ripresa: sofferta!! per colpa dello strumento scollimato e per questo immagine croppata. 5,3 h per la luminanza e circa 1h per canale RGB. B.C.Observatory, RC10" con riduttore, Trius SX16 su gemini G41 field.
