Dopo aver programmato per mesi il viaggio, percorso quasi 10.000 chilometri in un viaggio durato due giorni, finalmente arrivo a Bali. Ad accogliermi una pioggia battente, che dura quasi ininterrottamente per 2 giorni. Alla ricerca di un riparo entro nel tempio principale di Ubud, dove entro in contatto per la prima volta con il popolo balinese. Sotto le rovine del tempio decine di bambini, guidati da giovani maestri, si esercitano per ore nelle danze tradizionali balinesi, tramandate di padre in figlio per decine di generazioni. La danza è parte integrante degli spettacoli teatrali, che raccontano il millenario scontro tra le forze del bene e del male, in perenne lotta ed equilibrio tra di loro.
