Il litigio per l' acquisto di un casco di banane in un mercatino tra i giovani di due villaggi diversi è degenerata a tal punto che, per dirimere la controversia, hanno deciso di organizzare un Donga: il combattimento con i bastoni dei Surma. Ogni villaggio elegge i suoi campioni che fanno un lungo combattimento con i bastoni: i più esperti sono gli arbitri chiamati a far rispettare le regole però non di rado degenerano in momenti di grande tensione ( a cui è capitato di assistere anche noi ) e talvolta le gli scontri sono talmente violenti che portano anche gravissime conseguenze. Per la cronaca, nella foga di avvicinarmi troppo, per essere al centro della scena, anche io, credo proprio dal ragazzo in primo piano, mi sono beccato una bella randellata su di una gamba..... Non si è trattato di una comabttimento di esibizione organizzato per i turisti, noi siamo stati gli unici presenti e devo dire che è stato un pomeriggio davvero esaltante calati in un atmosfera unica. Surma Tribe - Etiopia Gennaio 2011 Ogni volta che vado in Etiopia è un esperienza bellissima che comincia a mancarmi fortemente per cui penso proprio che tornerò nell' Omo river a Novembre 2013 oppure fine gennaio 2014......
