Paesino sardo ove si svolge la corsa degli scalzi e la festa di San Salvatore verso i primi di settembre. Si svolgono anche i riti delle novene molto radicati nella religiosita' sarda. Nel secolo scorso fu utilizzato come sito di alcuni film western. Nell'antichita' fu villaggio di pescatori e marinai provbenienti da Tharros. Tra le antiche e tipiche case si trova una chiesa, che risale al xvi secolo, ove al suo interno e' sito un tempio ipogeo.
