It was a very confident Fox photographed a few years ago in Vermiana (Valnontey-Cogne), of a family of three specimens.
They were so accustomed to the tourists that while a couple of Belgians photographed them, one of them squeezed their muzzle into a backpack (perhaps attracted by the smell of a ham sandwich ...) and picked up a compact Canon complete with custody carrying it in the bag ...: -o

Era una Volpe molto confidente fotografata qualche anno fa a Vermiana (Valnontey-Cogne), di una famigliola di tre esemplari.
Erano talmente abituate ai turisti che, mentre una coppia di belgi le fotografava, una di loro ha infilato il muso in uno zaino poggiato a terra (forse attratta dal profumo di un panino al prosciutto) ed ha prelevato una compatta Canon completa di custodia portandosela di corsa nella tana...

Purtroppo la storia non ha un lieto fine.
Nutrite da decine di turisti con ogni tipo di porcheria (merendine, cioccolato, biscotti) in poco tempo le pellicce di tutti e tre gli esemplari si sono rovinate a tal punto da farle sembrare malate (...e forse lo erano).
Così, da una morbosa curiosità si è passati alla paura di chi sa quale contagio.
Inoltre stavano diventando troppo intraprendenti e qualche bambino ha rischiato di farsi mordere porgendo il cibo in modo sbagliato, cioè tenendolo tra le dita e non poggiandolo correttamente sul palmo della mano.
Prima erano le beniamine dei villeggianti, poi...il terrore di Valnontey.
