L., 1763) è una pianta della famiglia delle Asteraceae, diffusa nei paesi del bacino del Mediterraneo. È una pianta erbacea annuale, terofita scaposa, con fusti eretti che raggiungono un'altezza di 30–50 cm. Le foglie sono alterne, spatolate, ricoperte da una densa peluria, con margine irregolarmente dentellato. L'infiorescenza è un capolino del diametro di 1–3 cm, di colore arancio carico, con fiori del raggio ligulati, con ligula tridentata, e fiori del disco tubulosi. Fiorisce da settembre a maggio. In Italia la specie è presente in tutta la penisola (con l'eccezione della Val d'Aosta e del Trentino) e nelle isole maggiori. Cresce sui prati soleggiati, ma anche sui bordi delle strade e delle aree coltivate, dal livello del mare sino a 1400 m di altitudine. FONTE: Wikipedia
