Grazie a tutti gli intervenuti, c'é una storia triste dietro questa foto, ed il titolo non é stato scelto superficialmente.
Nel posto dove fotografavo c'erano pochissimi gruccioni, praticamente due o tre coppie.
Questo maschio ha continuato a chiamare la sua compagna, che era stata vista nei giorni precedenti, offrendole prede sempre piu' vistose (per ultima, prima che andassimo via, quella di questa foto), aspettando pazientemente ed esibendo i grossi insetti in tutte le direzioni; lei non si é mai piu' presentata né quel giorno, né nei giorni seguenti, per cui abbiamo pensato che fosse stata uccisa o che fosse morta per un incidente.
E' stato molto commovente e triste e sono tornata a casa con il senso forte della fragilità degli individui, ed in generale, della natura

In the place where I photographed there were very few bee-eaters, almost two or three couples.
The male continued to call his girlfriend, who had been seen in previous days, offering prey more and more 'showy (last, before we went away to this photo), waiting patiently and exhibiting large insects in all directions and she is not never again 'presented neither that day nor the next few days, so we thought had been killed or had died of an accident.

Grazie Maia e Lucio; pensavo a tutta la fatica e a chissá quali difficoltá aveva patito il piccoletto, viaggiando per migliaia di Km dai quartieri invernali, per ritrovarsi con una stagione riproduttiva andata persa. E poi chissá la delusione ...
