GSphotography is a former lens for me too, now I have a 16/35L f/4, the 17/40 in my opinion remains a great glass, calculating the scissors quality/price, what I regret is the resistance to backlights even those pushed and to the flare... where the 16/35, unfortunately does not hold up the comparison, for everything else...... :-D
