A detta di molti critici dell'arte,il ponte di Castel Sant'Angelo, il più bello del mondo! Innanzitutto, anche se ha subito varie modifiche e adattamenti, la base di questo ponte non è mai crollata, anzi, sta qui da circa 2000 anni (!!!), cioè da quando l'imperatore Adriano pensò bene di costruirlo di fronte al suo mausoleo (il mausoleo che, diventerà poi la fortezza di Castel Sant'Angelo E' un ponte incredibilmente antico e per il contesto in cui è immerso: i marmi, le arcate, e la sua forma, ha un grande fascino sia che lo si veda di giorno, che di notte. Inoltre, come non considerare le 10 grandi statue degli angeli che lo adornano, una diversa dall'altra, scolpite nel 1600 sotto la direzione di uno dei più grandi scultori e artisti di tutti i tempi, Gian Lorenzo Bernini! Roma è tagliata a metà dal Tevere: a questa suddivisione il fedele ha dato spesso un significato "spirituale". Attraversare il Tevere verso il lato della Basilica di San Pietro equivaleva per il viaggiatore a passare dal lato "profano" al lato "sacro" della città, e questo passaggio quindi era vissuto come un percorso di purificazione, una "via crucis" che avvicinava l'uomo alla divinità. Il ponte Sant'Angelo simboleggia proprio questa "comunicazione" fra l'uomo e Dio.....e chi sono gli intermediari fra l'uomo e Dio? Gli angeli! Ecco spiegato il motivo delle statue degli angeli, la cui scelta quindi non c'entra nulla con la leggenda dell'angelo sopra il castello. Commenti, consigli e critiche sempre super graditi. Grazie.
