con Sigma 1.4x TC-1401, 1/1000 f/5.6, ISO 1600, hand held. Samburu National Reserve, Kenya. Specie: Panthera pardus

great and interesting document.
it seems to me hard that she is eating a prey caught by the lions ... they usually do not get away after eating so little ....
and with the lions in the area the leopard would never come near. I guess the guide told you this because the belly is open and the lions is usually the first thing they do to eat liver, heart, and lungs, however strange and in my opinion the prey is of the leopard itself.

Thank you friends,
Steff, I do not know ... the guide told us this ... I do not know if you know the Samburu, but I can tell you that Leons and Leopards live in a very close area near the river during the day, during the night Leopards tend to moving in towards the mountains. The water antelope is a prey a bit big for a Leopard and near it we have met a pair of Leons ... probably both of these hypotheses may be true.
A greeting
Fabio
