Il Premio è nato a Lanciano (CH) per ricordare Ilaria Rambaldi, studentessa di Ingegneria laureata honoris causa e che ha perso la vita a L'Aquila nel terremoto del 6 aprile 2009. “Esso – spiega l'avvocato Maria Grazia Piccinini, mamma di Ilaria Rambaldi e presidente della Onlus – ha lo scopo di sensibilizzare sul rischio sismico ed idrogeologico, anche a seguito di interventi dell'uomo che a volte si rivelano catastrofici. Un'iniziativa che vogliamo portare avanti per coinvolgere soprattutto le giovani generazioni nella prevenzione e nel rispetto dell'ambiente e del territorio”.Per quanto riguarda il concorso giornalistico, organizzato in collaborazione con l'Ordine nazionale dei giornalisti e con l'Ordine dei giornalisti d'Abruzzo, la commissione giudicatrice ha assegnato il premio alla giornalista abruzzese Lisa D'Ignazio per il video reportage “Non possiamo prevenire i terremoti ma possiamo evitare i morti”. Un lavoro che è il risultato di 5 giorni trascorsi ad Amatrice dopo il sisma del 24 agosto scorso. “Ero a Bruxelles – spiega l'autrice – e sono corsa lì per raccontare quanto stava accadendo.
