Il Cerastium arvense subsp. Strictum appartiene alla famiglia delle Caryophyllaceae ed è comunemente chiamato Peverina a foglie strette. Il termine "cerastium" è stato introdotto da "J. J. Dillen Dillenius" (1687 - 1747) ed in seguito confermato da Linneo; deriva dal greco "kéras" = "cornuto o corno" con riferimento alla forma dei suoi frutti. L'epiteto della specie deriva dal latino " arvum " = "campo coltivato" quindi pianta comune. Fiorisce da Maggio ad Agosto. Preferisce ambienti freschi ed umidi tra 0 e 2.900 m. slm circa. Scatto effettuato nel Luglio del 2017 alle pendici del Sassolungo, lungo il Friedrich August Weg in Alto Adige ad una quota di circa 2.300 m.
