Tutte le foto sono coperte da copyright. Il Matterhorn non può essere separato da Zermatt. “Matt” compare sia nel nome della montagna, sia in quello del paese. In antico tedesco questo vocabolo significa prato, pascolo, allora Matter-Horn significa “Il corno (ovvio, visto la forma della montagna) del prato“. Zermatt nei primi documenti medioevali era chiamata Zur-matt, cioè “al prato”. Insomma già dal nome capiamo cosa dobbiamo aspettarci: un territorio di pascoli ai piedi di un monte dalla forma particolare. Ora non è più così perchè Zermatt è un paese super affollato sia d'inverno che d'estate, ma bastano pochi passi oltre il paese che il Corno spunta dai prati fioriti e ci lascia incantati con la sua forma bizzarra che poco ricorda il Cervino come siamo abituati a vederlo dal lato italiano. #montagna #pratofiorito
