From just after sunrise to just two hours ago, I walked on some of the oldest human tracks in Britain - a landscape full of sheep, hills, gnarled trees - and the remains of this almost full moon.
I had walked for over an hour trying to get a landscape that would fit underneath it, it was either too low down in the frame or not interesting enough. Next time I looked for the moon a few minutes after this, I simply could not see it - perhaps it thought it had done its good deed for the day and could now go to sleep...
After the heavy rains of the past three days, it was extremely difficult walking conditions, with cloying chalk and sticky mud. My final aim was for the huge and fabulous chalk figure, the Westbury White Horse, of which I took many shots, but with no moon! A few of these I will post sometime.
