questa famiglia si colloca in prima posizione come varietà di generi presenti nelle case italiane. Ben tre specie appartenenti a tre generi diversi sono piuttosto comuni all'interno di abitazioni e cantine. Tutte le specie appartenenti a questa famiglia sono assolutamente innocue per l'uomo e costruiscono tele irregolari e disordinate sulle quali si muovono con agilità grazie alle loro zampe estremamente lunghe e sottili.
