In Cambogia i Naga sono i guardiani dei Buddha, anime a cui è stata data una nuova possibilità per elevarsi, seppur nella vita precedente le loro azioni non siano state pure abbastanza per salire di livello nel cammino dell'illuminazione. Sacro e profano, tradizione, conoscenza e superstizione, amuleti e religione.
