Thanks, Christiano.

A question for you and for all, what do you think of the grain in this photo? Too much, too big, good, bad, etc. I'm in doubt. To respond please look at the high definition photo because in the compressed version the grain display is altered. Thank you for any suggestion you will give me.

Hello Marco.

Beautiful composition, light and b/n conversion! As I remember remarking on another of your images, I really like the grain - such things are down to personal preference but it definitely appeals to me.

If you don't mind me saying, I would have removed the single rock on the left hand edge - but that is a very minor detail and again down to personal taste!

Ann :))

Hi Ann,

Your post is just funny this time, I do not know the content just the Italian form, and I 've noticed it' s translated, since you 're in UK I assume you' re in English, so I reply in the same language. (Btw, is there a way to prevent the system from translating?)

I agree that the small rock is not the best in that position, I can certainly remove it. However, removing parts and moving pixels is something I'm always bit reluctant to do, it's kind of cheating and, moreover, I'm afraid that allowing yourself that option would prompt you to lower attention at the time the shot was taken. But I agree with your comment.

Take care, Marco.

The photo is good but the grain is, in my opinion, too obvious.

thanks, Maron. The grain has been added, the initial photo does not have it, and I also had the doubt that you made it, thank you for having shared it. In fact, the grain depends much on seeing the photo in high definition or in preview, if you want / you have time and you have not done it yet, try opening it in high definition, I would like to receive your opinion.

Thanks again, hello, Marco.

I also agree that retouching this kind of photo reportage is a bit 'cheating, although on certain occasions can save a photo where there is a disturbing element. Without this rock, surely the image would gain, but even so it is not bad. I share the opinion that the grain is excessive, to the point of being disturbing (and perhaps a little 'too is the vignetting). After all, even adding artificial grain to create an atmosphere that in reality does not exist, to be fiscal, could be seen a bit like cheating, no? Not that there is a real answer on this: no one would appreciate a photo that is just aseptic documentation, without the personal interpretation of the photographer.

above all it is impossible: language necessarily interferes with reality. Hello Marco.

In my opinion, the photo is very beautiful, with a great atmosphere, very well set and therefore particularly successful. I really like the contrast/relationship between the foreground "on nature" with the very well-characterized man sitting in contemplation and the background of the skyscrapers, a sign of modernity. The cable car that crosses the entire frame with its wires is a real gem. Great shot, congratulations.
