Il lago alpino, alimentato dalle sorgenti sotterranee della catena montuosa del Latemar, è davvero uno spettacolo della natura! Curiosità: L'origine delle diverse gradazioni di colori è dovuta alla sabbia molto chiara delle roccie dolomitiche sul fondo del lago (come la sabbia chiara dei caraibi). Inoltre il lago è oligotrofo e quindi vi crescono solo pochissime alghe. Nell'acqua purissima c'è pochissimo fitoplancton e ancora meno cianobatteri. Così la luce penetra ad una profondità di 17 metri e viene riflessa dal fondo del lago chiaro License: CC Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareALike 4.0
