Nicolae Pitis è un cantante e musicista ottantenne, molto famoso nel Maramures. Quando ci ha accolto in casa, era reduce da un concerto a Bucarest avvenuto la sera prima. Molto legato alla propria cultura ama indossare ogni giorno gli abiti tradizionali e, nonostante abbia girato il mondo e suonato in molti concerti, continua a vivere in una modesta casa di campagna, tra le colline di Lapus.
