Loyeti, provo a commentarti quasta foto perche' per il mio modesto parere, e' "quasi arrivata", come hai scritto poco fa nel blog di Francesco Merenda.
La giornata non era il massimo, o meglio, lo sarebbe stata se un fascio di luce avesse illuminato le rovine; ma questo non dipende certo da te.
L'inquadratura e' buona, anche se io l'avrei fatta un poco piu' ampia (piu' grandangolo), ma andiamo abbastanza sul personale....
Essendo la giornata grigia l'unico modo per dare forza all'immagine e' la postproduzione (uso Lightroom), ti dico cosa avrei fatto io.
Io la farei B/N, aumenterei parecchio il contrasto, aumenterei la chiarezza, proverei a ravvivarla ulteriormente manovrando luci/ombre Bianco/nero,//
Agirei anche sui colori per variare selettivamente il chiaroscuro in BN dei verdi/blu/gialli. Aumenterei la nitidezza e controllerei eventuale rumore agendo su luminanza in riduzione disturbo. inoltre vignetterei l'immagine.
Farei almeno due versioni diverse, una piu' chiara, e usando qualsiasi programma coi livelli unirei le due immagini manualmente (er in GIMP usando il pennello su due livelli) per creare la luce che non c'era.
Ovviamente molti inorridiscono al pensiero di come rimaneggio una foto ma ho la convinzione che la riuscita di una immagine dipenda al 40% dallo scatto e al 60% dalla post,,, io parlo per il mio genere fotografico ....
Devi per' tener presente che ognuno ha la propria sensibilita' fotografica e se i mie suggerimenti non sono nelle tue "corde" semplicemente non seguirli, e' molto meglio!
Sono dell'idea che ognuno deve scegliere la sua strada...

In particolare io credo che le tue idee siano corrette per dare una maggiore "drammaticità" all'immagine. Quel giorno poi il meteo si mise al bello e feci la stessa foto in condizioni migliori, ma ammetto che quelle erano foto più qualsiasi di questa in quanto era uguali al ziliardo fatte dal quell'unico punto di vista.
