Gran bel colpo !
La luce non ti ha aiutato ma il soggetto è notevole; personalmente mi è capitato di vederlo per pochi secondi in India senza nemmeno fare in tempo a scattare....

Molto bello il soggetto, caspita l'hai ripreso con il 70/200, se la foto è un no crop era veramente vicino. Quoto Memy per la luce, qualche bianco bruciato ma può andare.

Ciao Memy e grazie del passaggio e grazie Pmaffio!! E si lo so per la luce, ne ho altre con luce migliore  ma questa si adattava bene al nome Sloth Bear e ai primi scatti dettati dall'entusiasmo mentre studiavo come settare meglio la macchina...
E no non è un crop, è un ca. 95% (non mi piaceva del tutto l'inquadratura - come dicevo dettata dalla sorpresa e dall'euforia), e per questo devo ringraziare la mia guida, Shantha che non solo si è portato in ottime posizioni ma ha anche salvato, a pericolo allontanatosi, il mio beanbag che era volato in una manovra (Memy la cosa ti dovrebbe essere familiare: ricordo la descrizione di un bean bag vittima sacrificale durante una vostra corsa per una delle vostre belle foto): questa tipetto non è aggressivo per natura ma è piuttosto lunatico ed ha dei begli artigli...

And no it is not a crop, is a ca. 95% (I did not like the picture at all - as I said dictated by surprise and elation), and for that I thank my guide, Shantha who has not only resulted in good positions but also saved in danger went away , my beanbag that had flown in a maneuver (Memy the thing you should be familiar: I remember the description of a bean bag sacrificial victim during your travel to one of your beautiful pictures): This little guy is not aggressive by nature, but rather moody and has some nice claws ... Bel soggetto. Ignoravo fosse principalmente notturno, per cui doppi complimenti.
La luce mi sembra quasi buona, quindi leggendo gli altri commenti intuisco di avere un pessimo monitor su questo notebook

@Marcom: spero proprio che siano gli altri a vedere l'immagine su un laptop non calibrato mentre il tuo laptop direi che non è niente male e non lo è il mio monitor che è nuovissimo (arrivato la scorsa settimana: 24" IPS 178° full gamut) nonchè calibrato e su questo vedo quasi tutto ok, tranne il fatto da me citato di una luce non ottimale, ma i bruciati sono solo dei punti tra tronco e rami (255. 255, 218 e poi un 254, 251, 236 ed un 255, 254, 239) mentre confermo che tra come vedo questa immagine sul nuovo monitor ed il laptop che sto usando per scrivere c'è un vero abisso...
Che è un animale notturno, anche io l'ho letto quando me ne sono informata ed in Sri Lanka spiegavano che è difficilissimo vederlo perchè sta rifugiato nelle caverne, soffre molto il caldo e ne esce solo, le poche volte che lo fa, per fame, come nel mio caso e solo verso sera (spesso dopo la chiusura dei parchi che la è alle 18:00 o 18:30) ma la mia guida è un locale, nato in un villaggio molto vicino al parco di Yala, e che conosce e rispetta la natura, ed aveva avuto una "soffiata" da una guida più anziana del villaggio che lo aveva avvistato la sera prima della mia foto.

adesso sono su diverso pc (mac air non calibrato) e continua a sembrarmi buona la luce. forse c'è qualche punto di bruciato, ma come scrivi tu sembra poca cosa.

I am now on a different computer (mac air uncalibrated) and still seems to me a good light. maybe there is some point of burning, but as you write it seems a small thing.

Date le difficoltà nel riprenderlo mi sembra uno scatto veramente importante. per la foto credo che il problema fosse quello tipico delle luci/ombre che si creano quando il soggetto è tra gli alberi e di dove cerchi di mettere a fuoco senza prendere rami e foglie. E' una foto documento molto interessante. Grazie non l'avevo ancora visto fotografato e delle info.

Given the difficulties in resume seems like a really important shot. for the photo I think the problem was that typical of light / shadows that are created when the subject is in the trees and where you try to focus without taking branches and leaves. Hello Stefano Date le difficoltà nel riprenderlo mi sembra uno scatto veramente importante. per la foto credo che il problema fosse quello tipico delle luci/ombre che si creano quando il soggetto è tra gli alberi e di dove cerchi di mettere a fuoco senza prendere rami e foglie. E' una foto documento molto interessante. Grazie non l'avevo ancora visto fotografato e delle info.

Grazie Arunasene e si è stato lo stesso giorno: ho trascorso 7 giorni nella zona di Yala e la nostra guida era una di quelle accreditate a non essere obbligate ad avere il tracker come da regole del parco. La notte prima aveva piovuto e la nostra guida aveva saputo da una guida più anziana che un orso era stato visto fuori dalle grotte in cerca di cibo nonostante la stagione così lo abbiamo cercato per tutto il giorno e quando le altre jeep se ne sono andate felici delle foto mordi e fuggi, noi siamo rimasti fino a quando l'orso ha deciso di andarsene (dopo circa un'ora)... /
