La chiesa di Negrentino, detta anche chiesa di San Carlo o chiesa di S. Ambrogio Vecchio, si trova nella valle di Blenio a 850m di altitudine. Si raggiunge in pochi minuti a piedi dal villaggio di Leontica. La costruzione risale al XI secolo e venne ampliata a più riprese. Notevoli e preziosi gli affreschi che decorano tutte le pareti databili intorno al 1100 e 1500. La fotografia pubblicata rappresenta l'abside maggiore con Gesù e gli apostoli. In origine gli apostoli erano dodici ma, per dare maggior luce all'interno, ne vennero sacrificati alcuni.
