Tuttavia mi pare di doverti correggere sul fatto che ti sembra di essere in Valsesia. Dalla Valsesia ammiri la bellissima parete sud del Monte Rosa, mentre dal Mottarone (come del resto da Varese) si ammira la parete Est, cioè la cosiddetta "parete himalayana".

Sono stato più volte, almeno una decina, all'Alpe Pedriola (Rifugio Zamboni-Zappa) e su fin al Lago delle Locce. Da lì la visione della Est del Rosa è spettacolare. Una parete con più di 2.000 metri di dislivello davanti ai tuoi occhi con ghiacciai ed, attorno, un circo di montagne che ricordano ( a chi ci è stato, ma non a me, purtroppo) le pareti dell'Himalaya anche se un po' in sedicesimo.
Ti allego qui una foro panoramica (unione di sei scatti) fatta nel'Ottobre del 2009 davanti alla morena dell'Alpe Pedriola.
