Su questi gradini del centro storico di Ostuni, nel 2012, io mi sono seduta in compagnia di un mostro sacro del teatro italiano, ma soprattutto in compagnia di una grande donna: Franca Rame. Nel novembre del 2012, la coppia Fo-Rame inaugurò una mostra a Brindisi, e con l'occasione si concesse qualche giorno di vacanza. Quella mattina ero ad Ostuni seduta sui gradini che vedete nella foto e, all'improvviso me la vidi difronte, mi aveva subito riconosciuta e si sedette accanto a me. Conoscevo Franca da tanti e tanti anni, ci eravamo viste non so quante volte, ma ogni volta per me, era un'emozione. Il suo sorriso solare, la sua voglia di vivere di combattere, la sua ironia, il suo modo tutto speciale di prendersi in giro. Una donna che aveva molto sofferta, che aveva subito uno stupro, ma che non si piangeva mai addosso, il suo motto era: “Avanti sempre”… Pranzammo insieme, Dario Fo, era stato trattenuto a Brindisi, e quindi era libera di gironzolare in lungo e in largo. Una giornata che rimarrà sempre nei miei ricordi più cari, come quella “tremenda” del 29 maggio 2013, appena un anno dopo, quando mi ritrovai al Piccolo di Milano, a cantare: “Bella ciao” ai suoi funerali.
