Probabilmente la foto è stata scattata a mano libera e per questo rimane un po' penalizzata sopratutto nella nitidezza. Potendo avere un appoggio stabile ed una fonte di luce differente avresti potuto scendere con la sensibilità utilizzando un diaframma più chiuso. A questo punto le cose sarebbero cambiate.
La luce mi sembra provenga tutta da sx, a questo punto con un pannellino la si poteva portare sul soggetto.
