The mills of Piero mills. sent on May 14, 2017 (17:11) by Massimo Schiavi. 41 comments, 738 views. [retina]

at 35mm, 1/200 f/13.0, ISO 400, hand held.

In his own way, Piero, is a small Stonehenge of our mountains. Very beautiful Massimo. I had noticed these same grinds in Roberto's picture, and I would have liked to see them in more detail. There are ;-) thanks.

The mills are fairly recent, I think built around the early decades of the XIX century, but in the area there are rock carvings dating back to about 2,000 BC
I tried to photograph one of them, and if I can fit it decently, the place soon.
I thank you so much for your welcome comment, Simonetta, and I wish you a good evening!

I'm really curious to see her, thank you! I remember what I saw in Naquane many years ago, to be dry for the charm. Are they similar to those you talk about, Massimo?

You've done well to publish the detail of grindstones, but it's been fine. Bravo Massimo! :-P ;-)
Bye, see you soon,
Roberto

Those of Naquane of Cape of Ponte, to which I have seen them, together with Roberto, many years ago and we also photographed them with our analogue machines.
I think the subjects are a bit different except for the fact that the populations were of different strains.
Those of Piero were engraved on the rock by a Ibero-Ligurian tree people who, I believe, had different origins and culture than the Camuni. Anyway, those of Naquane are much larger and much more refined and elaborate. These, you see, are very schematic.
Thanks again and a good evening!
