Coenonympha pamphilus Si tratta di una delle specie più comuni e diffuse in Italia e in tutta Europa. Preferisce gli ambienti prativi e la larva si nutre di un gran numero di erbe tra cui Festuca, Poa, Dactylis e Nardus. Nell'Arcipelago Toscano è nota per l'Elba. I sessi sono simili ma la femmina è in genere più grande (come accade in molte altre specie).
