L'area geotermale di Krýsuvík, pur essendo situato a soli 35 Km a Sud di Reykjavík, è stranamente e per fortuna ancora al di fuori delle normali rotte turistiche: poca gente e soprattutto nessun asiatico che si fa i selfie (l'unico aspetto negativo del mio viaggio in Islanda: una vera piaga) L'area geotermica è situata proprio sopra la fossa tettonica che divide in due l'Islanda e che prosegue verso Nord Est nel parco di Thingvellir e nell'area geotermale di Geysir. Qui si possono ammirare fanghi in ebollizione, solfatare, fumarole e infinite sfumature di colore dal bianco al giallo all'ocra, rimanendo però rigorosamente sulle passerelle in legno sollevate dal suolo... pena la fusione delle scarpe! Il suolo è infatti a una temperatura tra gli 85°C ed i 100°C. Per la sola visita bastano 3/4 d'ora. Per le foto... meglio non essere in compagnia: ci sarei rimasto ore. Affascinante anche il paesaggio lunare nell'ultima decina di chilometri arrivando da Reykjavik lungo la strada 42: mi ricorda il Parco Los Volcanes a Lanzarote
