Cortona è un bel paese della Valdichiana di origine Etrusca, sito in collina, ai suoi piedi la pianura si sviluppa a sud verso il Trasimeno, ad est si immerge nella Valdichiana e qui a nord verso Arezzo. Nei giorni di nebbia, (ad Arezzo si dice "nebbia in Valdichiana" ) il paese gode di giornate di sole e sottostante la nebbia si perde a vista d'occhio.
