Il Vatnajokull è un vero gigante che lentamente scivola verso il mare...ormai le sue propaggini arrancano, affogando in lagune poco profonde. L'inverno, con la neve ed il gelo che sembrano poter sterilizzare la situazione, camuffa la realtà del riscaldamento terrestre e del conseguenziale ritiro dei ghiacci anche a latitudini medio alte dando l'impressione di un mondo perennemente stretto nella morsa del ghiaccio.
